Alumni Ambassadors Take the Lead

For the first time, our Alumni Ambassadors took center stage during the Spring 2026 Bridge sessions. Stepping beyond the classroom, these alumni played a key role in supporting incoming EDvance students during our in-person Fall Bridge orientation.

Ambassadors provided one-on-one technology and computer setup support while creating a welcoming, nurturing environment for new students. They also shared powerful insights from their own EDvance journeys, highlighting their current roles in Early Childhood Education, future goals, and how EDvance supported them in earning their bachelor’s degrees.

Ambassador Spotlight from Jesbi Serrano:

How did you support and contribute to the new generation of EDvance College students?

I supported new students in my role as an alumni ambassador by providing technical assistance, such as guiding them on how to access Canvas and set up their accounts. I also shared my experience as a former student, offering practical advice, such as the importance of staying organized and keeping up with assignments, which is a key factor for success at EDvance.

In addition, I explained that if students experience challenges in their classes, there are coaching services and support staff available both inside and outside the classroom. Many of these resources are informed by the lived experiences of other students, which helps create a strong support system.

What motivated you to apply and become part of this program?

What motivated me was the opportunity to be part of the EDvance community not only as a student, but also as a member of the team, and to experience what it feels like to be on the other side. It was a meaningful experience that I can now share with future students, showing them that EDvance continues to offer opportunities for growth even after graduating.
