In September, we hosted our first-ever virtual Student Supervisor Drop-in “Meet and Greet”, bringing together over 30 dedicated site supervisors from across ECE centers and agencies. Their enthusiasm was inspiring! Supervisors shared their pride in staff who are also EDvance College students, while gaining space to ask questions and learn more about our model. This dialogue strengthens our partnerships and ensures we’re working hand-in-hand with those who work directly alongside educators every day.

The conversations surfaced valuable insights about shifting trends, like declining preschool enrollment due to public Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) and a growing demand for infant and toddler programs. This feedback is exactly why we do what we do—adapting our curriculum and exploring new offerings, such as a Pre-K–3rd Grade Credential and infant/toddler courses, to prepare students for the realities of the workforce while meeting employers’ evolving needs. Supervisors also highlighted the importance of having EDvance as a trusted partner in workforce recruitment and retention. As one put it, “it helps that EDvance is building stronger partnerships with schools. This way, when we need to hire teachers or provide substitute opportunities, we have a pool of qualified candidates to draw from.” We’re grateful for the open exchange and are already planning another session next semester to continue building these vital connections.
