As a Lead Teacher, you will manage and supervise all operations of an assigned infant/ toddler/ preschool classroom according to established procedures. You will be responsible for supervising 2-5 regular staff, substitutes and 1 foster grandparent volunteer. As a Lead Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children by providing them with a safe and nurturing environment that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. You will implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum which reflects observations and goals of individual children and facilitate regular parent/guardian communication and conferences to discuss orientation, transitions, and developmental goals. Class sizes 9-18 children, under 1:2, 1:3; 1:4 and 1:6 ratios.
*Strong pedagogy, communication & leadership skills are critical aspects of this position. Must hold or be eligible for State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Teacher Permit or above + BA in ECE or related field. A minimum of 175 days of 3+hours/day work experience within last 4 years and at least 2 years supervising adults. Exempt position.
