EDvance makes higher education more accessible for ECE professionals by simplifying our transfer requirements. We help students achieve their educational goals and become transfer-ready sooner by reducing the lower division General Education requirements and infusing them at the upper division level.
While students still need to have completed 60 units of lower division to be transfer-eligible, EDvance only requires 15 units of general education and 12 units of Child Development courses. This change greatly increases the number of ECE professionals who are transfer-eligible.
A minimum of 12 units of Child Development courses are required towards transfer eligibility. These can include any Child Development courses, but must include (1) Child Development and (2) Children, Families and their Communities as required courses.
Up to 33 units of elective courses can be counted towards transfer eligibility, including CAP 8 courses, ESL courses, etc.
Our admissions team is committed to providing a thorough evaluation of your academic records in order to determine your eligibility for our 2-Year Pathway. They will carefully review your transcripts to identify any gaps in your coursework and determine which classes you may need to take to meet our requirements.
As an added benefit for educators, we offer a BA Preparation Pathway that provides General Education (GE) coursework to those who need it. This program is designed to help educators fulfill their GE requirements at no cost, making it easier for them to enroll at EDvance College and pursue their academic and professional goals.
